Polk County’s junior varsity suffered another tough loss Tuesday, dropping a 2-1 decision to Asheville Christian Academy in Swannanoa.

The Lions earned a 25-20, 20-25, 15-12 win, handing the Wolverines (0-2) their second straight close three-set setback.

Elysia Smith had 13 kills, seven assists and five digs for Polk County, with Amberlyn Scruggs adding six digs and 10 assists. Annslee Kilgore had seven digs while Stella Tallon had three blocks. Ella Waldman finished with 25 digs for the Wolverines.

Polk County makes its home debut on Thursday as East Henderson visits for a 5 p.m. match.
