Three Polk County players have earned preseason All-State recognition from an online broadcaster/podcaster.
Friday Nights in Carolina named Wolverine sophomore Angus Weaver to its 1AA Preseason All-State first team. Weaver earned recognition as a linebacker.
Teammates Jared Searcy and Steven Chupp were chosen for the All-State second team, with Searcy named as an offensive lineman and Chupp chosen as an athlete.
Three other Western Highlands Conference players received a spot on the 1AA All-State first team, those being Avery’s Troy Hoilman (quarterback) and Ty Smith (wide receiver) and Mitchell’s Tanner Duncan (athlete).
