Polk County athletes earned five top-three finishes Monday in the HOT Snowman indoor track and field meet at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.

Lindsey Jenkins and Emma Brunell took second and third in the girls 500-meter dash, with Braxton Edwards placing third in the boys 500 meters. Madjson Geddings added a third in the pole vault and Alana Jergenson took third in the shot put.

Geddings’ vault of 8-0 and Jergenson’s throw of 30-11 both were good enough to serve as qualifying marks for next month’s state 2A/1A indoor track and field championships, also at JDL.

The Wolverines will now take team and gear up for their final meet of the season, the WNC Polar Bear Championships set for Feb. 1 in G.M. Tennant Stadium.
