Wilson doubles, three other Wolverines win at Flat Rock track and field meet

Sophie Wilson swept the throwing events and Polk County Middle got individual wins from Alia Vorbe, Rhys Jackson and Matthew Sokil at Tuesday’s Blue Ridge Conference track meet at Flat Rock Middle.

Team scores were not available.

Wilson won shot put with a mark of 33-1 and took first in discus with a throw of 70-9. Zoey Conner added a fifth-place finish in shot put (27-0).

Vorbe won the girls 100-meter hurdles in 18.70, Jackson took first in the boys 800 meters in 2:25.63, and Sokil won the boys long jump with a mark of 17-9.

Jackson added a fourth-place finish in high jump (4-10).

Ian Lewis placed fourth in the boys 100 (12.62) and fifth in the 200 (26.81). Lukas Atkins finished sixth in the 200 (26.84) and seventh in the long jump (14-6).

Angel Roman took fifth in the triple jump (29-8) and sixth in the 110 hurdles (20.37). Liam Tessnair placed ninth in the triple jump (27-3).

Charlie Erdesky finished fifth in high jump (4-8), Sawyer Searcy took seventh in the 110 hurdles (21.57) and ninth in the 400 (1:07.75), and Xavier Chimalpopoca placed 10th in the 400 (1:17.35).

Quinn Schilling took 11th in the 100 (13.43), EJ Kassel placed ninth in shot put (20-7), Mason Proctor finished 12th in shot put (28-1), and Theisen Gerst took eighth in discus (48-0).

For the girls, Addie Blackwell placed third in the long jump (12-8) and seventh in the 800 (3:06.45). Macie Pegg finished sixth in discus (45-11) and eighth in triple jump (22-1).

Hadley Pereira took seventh in the 200 (32.10), Ethne Broyles finished eighth (32.84), TyLaisha Johnson placed 10th in the 100 (15.34), and Heidi Klootwyk finished 12th in the 100 hurdles (25.00) and eighth in the long jump (11-9).

Maddie Eller placed ninth in the 400 (1:16.93), Alice Kirk took 11th (1:22.06), Nora Williams finished seventh in the 800 (3:06.45), and Addison Steffel placed 13th in the 1600 (7:44). Carolina Foster took 10th in the 1600 (7:06).

Polk County placed second in the girls 4×200 relay (2:07.15) and seventh in the 4×400 relay (5:25). The boys finished third in the 4×100 relay (51.84), fifth in the 4×200 relay (1:56.37) and fourth in the 4×400 relay (4:29).
