Sam Rhein claimed three individual medals to lead Polk County at Tuesday’s Pisgah Invitational at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.
Rhein placed fourth in the boys triple jump (40-8), tied for fourth in the long jump (20-7) and finished eighth in the shot put (37-7).
The Wolverine boys finished 12th with 12.5 points in the 16-team field. Franklin won the team title with 92.5 points, followed by Palisades (84) and T.C. Roberson (84).

Polk County’s girls scored 12 points to finish 11th among 16 schools. Franklin claimed the girls championship with 140.5 points, followed by A.C. Reynolds (92) and Palisades (72).
Leah Dotson placed third in the girls pole vault (7-9) for Polk County. Renee Bright finished 10th in the 55-meter hurdles (10.99) and 10th in the 500 meters (1:36.69).
For the boys, Danny Bradley took sixth in the 300 meters (38.29) and 22nd in the 55 meters (7.01). Austin Martin tied for 12th in the pole vault (7-6), while Caleb Young placed 15th (7-0), Reese Huysman tied for 18th (6-6), and Jayvin Clark finished 20th (6-0). Logan Baird did not clear a height in the high jump.
Drew Young placed 24th in the 1,000 meters (3:23.05), William Finch finished 23rd in the 1,600 (5:44.21), and Kendra Kitchen took 20th in the girls 1,000 (4:02.67). Sadie Schweitzer placed 26th in the girls 1,600 (7:10.01).
Benjamin Winkel finished 23rd in the shot put (28-10), Landers Moss-Barnhart took 30th (25-9), and Jadyn Bramer placed 33rd (22-11.5). For the girls, Brianna Dyson finished 10th in the shot put (23-5), Minda McComas took 15th (20-4), Alaysia Hamrick placed 24th in the 55 meters (8.46), and Adrianne Dyson finished 37th in the 300 meters (54.01) and 45th in the 55 meters (9.27).
The boys 4×800 relay team placed ninth, the 4×200 relay finished 12th, and the girls 4×800 relay took third.
