Polk Middle teams grab second in home track meet
Polk County Middle’s track and field teams each placed second Thursday in a three-school meet held in G.M. Tennant Stadium.
The Wolverine boys finished behind Hendersonville Middle and nipped Apple Valley while the Polk Middle girls placed behind Apple Valley but ahead of Hendersonville.
Leah Dotson led the day for Polk Middle’s girls, winning the 800 and 1600-meter runs. Gabby Savaia, Mia Bradley and the Wolverines’ 4×400-meter relay team also scored event wins.
The Wolverine boys received event wins from Cooper Meyer (200-meter run), Blake Anderson (1600 meters) and the 4×100 and 4×400-meter relay teams.
Polk County Middle is scheduled to return to the track on Tuesday, hosting a meet with Flat Rock and Brevard.
