Sean Doyle and India Godlock raced to victories Saturday in the 1600-meter run as a handful of Polk County athletes competed in the JDL December Mini Meet at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem.

Doyle won the 1600-meter race with a time of 4:30.69. The Polk County senior finished nearly 11 seconds ahead of Myers Park’s Marshall Williamson.

Polk County’s India Godlock won the girls 1600-meter run with a time of 5:32.66, almost 28 seconds ahead of Lake Norman’s Reagan Portelance.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story said that Doyle set a school record in the 1600. He did not – the school record remains 4:21.79, run at the Liberty Christmas Invitational by John Spencer Wolfe in 2010.
