Athletes from throughout Western North Carolina and beyond will converge Friday on G.M. Tennant Stadium for the 1A West Regional track and field championships.
Here is a look at Polk County athletes who are entered in various events – though actual participation on Friday could change – as well as general information about attending the meet.
Schedule
8:30 a.m.: Gates open. Attendees are asked not to arrive before 8:30.
10:45 a.m.: Field events begin, semifinals of girls and boys 100-meter dash, girls 100-meter hurdles and boys 110-meter hurdles begin. The 4×800-meter relay will also be held following the completion of the semifinal events.
1:15 p.m.: Track finals begin.

State Qualifiers
Top four finishes in each event advance to the 1A state championship, set for May 16 at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro

Spectator Parking
When parking along gravel road near the softball and baseball fields, drivers are asked to park on the edge of the gravel road and not block the road. The pink area indicates parking for PCHS students only.
