Owen scored 10 runs in the fourth inning and defeated Polk County 20-2 in Friday’s Western Highlands Conference softball game at Polk.
The Warhorsess built a 9-0 lead through three innings before Polk County scored twice in the bottom of the third. Amiyah Waters was hit by a pitch and scored on a steal of home, and Lucy Tessnair doubled home Taylor Lancaster to make it 9-2.
Owen (5-1, 2-0) answered with 10 runs in the fourth to invoke the mercy rule.
