Chase pitcher Taylor Wall scattered six hits over seven innings and A’mya Phillips drove in two runs as the Trojans defeated Polk County 5-1 in Thursday’s non-conference softball game at Polk.
Wall allowed just one run while striking out five as Chase improved to 4-0 on the season.
The Trojans broke open a scoreless game with two runs in the fourth inning, added a run in the sixth and scored twice more in the seventh to pull away.

Polk County scored its only run in the sixth when Aslyn Scruggs singled with one out, advanced to second on Junie Mitchell’s groundout and scored on Lucy Tessnair’s single to center field.
Tessnair led Polk County with two hits and an RBI. Tory Coile, Scruggs, Mitchell and Taylor Lancaster each added one hit.
Phillips led Chase with two hits and two RBI while Mikenna Holland finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and Kassidy Bailey and Wall each had two hits.
Polk County (0-2) hosts Rosman and East Henderson on Saturday for The Slugfest in The Foothills.
