Vitale, Young named to All-MF7 softball squad

Polk County’s Sarah Vitale and Chloe Young have been named to the Mountain Foothills 7 All-Conference softball squad.

Vitale, a sophomore, hit a team-leading .431 with 13 RBI. She also finished 7-11 on the mound for the Wolverines, striking out 91 batters in 102.1 innings and recording a 3.28 earned run average.

Young, a junior, hit .411 with five doubles and four home runs. She drove in 13 runs and had a slugging percentage of .750.

R-S Central’s Lani Warren earned selection as the MF7 Player of the Year, with East Rutherford’s Chloe Adair named the league’s top pitcher and East Rutherford’s Laura Ray named the coach of the year.
