Undefeated Rugby Middle blanks Polk Middle

Rugby Middle scored eight runs in the second inning and defeated Polk County Middle 16-0 in Monday’s Blue Ridge Conference softball game at Polk County Recreation Complex.

The game ended after four innings by run rule.

Rugby (9-0) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, then broke the game open in the second. The Raiders added three more in the third and scored four in the fourth to complete the victory.

Kayla Hayford had both of Polk County Middle’s hits.

Polk County Middle (6-3) travels to Brevard Middle on Thursday.
