Polk County dropped a pair of games Saturday at The Slugfest in The Foothills, falling to Rosman 12-2 in the morning before losing a slugfest to East Henderson 16-15 in the afternoon.

Rosman scored four runs in the first inning and added six more in the fourth to pull away for a 12-2 victory in the tournament opener.

Polk County scored both its runs in the fifth inning.
Emma Hayford led the Lady Wolverines with two hits, including a double, and scored a run. Tory Coile added two hits and an RBI, while Aslyn Scruggs, Camdyn Israel-Garrett and Kinsley Lancaster each contributed one hit. Lancaster doubled, and Taylor Lancaster scored a run.
East Henderson 16, Polk County 15
Polk County scored eight runs in the first inning, but East Henderson answered with five in the bottom of the first and eventually took a walk-off win in the seventh.
The Wolverines held a 10-7 lead through three and a half innings, but the Eagles fought back and took a 15-10 advantage after five innings.
Polk scored five runs in the sixth, with Lucy Tessnair’s two-out two-run double tying the score. But the Eagles pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh to win the wild matchup.
Complete hitting details were not available for the Wolverines.
Polk County (0-4) travels to Owen on Tuesday for its Western Highlands Conference opener.
