Polk County Middle scored 10 runs in the first inning and rolled to a 15-0 victory over Hendersonville Middle in Monday’s Blue Ridge Conference softball game at Polk County High School.
The game ended after three innings by the mercy rule.
Hendersonville Middle pitchers issued 16 walks in the game, including eight in the first inning as Polk County sent 14 batters to the plate and built a 10-0 lead.

Kayla Hayford led Polk County Middle at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI. Emma Jackson finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Kaydence Cole went 1-for-3 with two RBI, Maddie Jolley was 1-for-2 with two RBI and Kali Masters went 1-for-1 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Kenzie Alm drew three walks and scored twice, and Adalyn Painter drew two walks and scored twice.
Aubrey Champion earned the win, pitching three innings and allowing one hit with four strikeouts.
Polk County Middle (8-3) closes the regular season Wednesday at Flat Rock.
Hendersonville Middle fell to 2-9.
