Polk County Middle's Khloe Hernandez slides into home after a wild pitch during Thursday's game

Polk County Middle’s first four hitters reached base and scored Thursday.

So did many of those who followed.

The Wolverines delivered their best offensive effort of the season, rolling to a 21-6 victory over Flat Rock in four innings at Polk County Recreation Complex.

Polk Middle (2-8) built a 16-0 lead after two innings. Flat Rock answered with six runs in the top of the third, but the Wolverines tallied five times in the bottom of the inning to end the game by run rule.

Polk catcher Junie-May Mitchell sparked the Wolverines at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a single, triple and home run. The Wolverines also got base hits from Mazzi Powell, Aslyn Scruggs, Abby Pruitt and Ava Evans in the win.

Anne-Maria Foster, Taylor Pruett, Aubrey Bell, Kimber Palmer and Mary Marrow all reached base and scored.

Polk Middle will return to action on April 26, hosting Rugby Middle at 4:30 p.m.

Polk County Middle’s Junie-May Mitchell had three hits in Thursday’s win
