Polk Middle keeps scoreboard ticking in earning fourth straight win

Polk County Middle extended its winning streak to four games with a 14-4 victory over Flat Rock Middle in Monday’s Blue Ridge Conference softball matchup at Polk County Recreation Complex.

The Wolverines scored in every inning and broke open the game with a five-run second inning that gave them a 6-1 lead. Polk County added four more runs in the third to push the advantage to 10-2.

Emma Jackson finished 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBI to pace the Polk attack, with Kenzie Alm also enjoying a big day going 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, two RBI and four stolen bases. Anabelle Burrell added two triples, two runs, two RBI and two stolen bases while going 2-for-2.

Aubrey Champion earned the win in the circle, pitching five innings and allowing eight hits and four runs (three earned) with three walks and six strikeouts. Champion also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Payton Emory contributed two hits and two RBI, while Kali Masters finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Kayla Hayford and Arieana Jolley each added two stolen bases.

Polk County Middle (4-1) travels to Rugby Middle on Wednesday.

Flat Rock Middle fell to 0-5.
