But Patton immediately responded with a two-run rally in its half of the first inning, then added six runs over the next two frames to build an 8-1 advantage. The Panthers tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning before scoring twice in the sixth to reach the run-rule threshold.

Bradley’s leadoff triple highlighted the offensive effort for the Wolverines, who were limited to six hits in the loss. Mitchell finished 1-for-3 with the team’s lone RBI.

Tory Coile, Elizabeth Vitale, Sarah Vitale and Laney Littlefield each added singles for Polk County.

Polk County returns to action Friday, traveling to Landrum for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference game.
