Patton blanks Polk County in non-conference clash

Patton scored six runs in the first inning and defeated Polk County 10-0 in Wednesday’s non-conference softball game in Morganton.

The Panthers (4-5) added two more runs in the second inning and single runs in the third and fourth to invoke the mercy rule.

Lila Hudson led Patton’s offensive attack, going 2-for-2 with three RBI and a home run.

Aslyn Scruggs paced Polk County with two hits, including a double. Emma Hayford and Kinsley Lancaster each added one hit.

Polk County (0-11) travels to Mountain Heritage on Friday for a Western Highlands Conference matchup.
