Five-run inning powers Apple Valley past Polk Middle

A five-run inning helped Apple Valley take a 7-2 win Tuesday over Polk County Middle in Blue Ridge Conference softball action at Polk County Recreation Complex.

Apple Valley improved to 5-1 with the win while Polk Middle fell to 1-4.

“The girls played well,” said Polk Middle head coach Jamie Graber. “The eighth graders really shined with their softball IQ and executing double plays throughout the game.

“At the end of the day, our bats came up short.”
