Polk County’s junior varsity softball team scored early and often Friday.

The Wolverines scored multiple runs in every inning en route to a 17-1 five-inning rout of Mitchell in Western Highlands Conference play at Polk.

The offensive standouts for Polk were many, but no one had a better day than Amy Chupp, who finished 4-for-4 with six RBI. Three of those runs came on her home run over the left-field fence in the bottom of the fourth inning.
