Polk County Middle's Renee Bright

Polk County Middle rolled to its fourth straight victory, topping Hendersonville Middle 2-0 Wednesday in a Blue Ridge Conference match in Hendersonville.

The Wolverines improved to 5-1 with the 25-12, 25-16 victory. The Bearcats dropped to 1-3.

Both sets featured long scoring runs for Polk. The Wolverines scored 11 straight points in taking command of the first set, then had a run of nine consecutive points during the final set.

“Our serving is continuing to improve,” said Polk Middle head coach Kenny Hall. “They are starting to put consistent pressure on our opponents’ serve receive.”

Polk Middle returns to the road on Monday, traveling to Flat Rock Middle for a 4:30 p.m. match.
