Wolverine Wrestling Club members showed their grit and determination at Saturday’s Elementary and Junior High State Wrestling Championships at Rise Sports Complex in Bermuda Run.
The middle school wrestlers faced a particularly demanding weekend, competing Friday night at the Blue Ridge Conference Tournament in Canton before returning home at midnight. After sleeping just five hours, they boarded a bus early Saturday morning and wrestled all day at the state meet in Advance.
Four junior high wrestlers and three elementary wrestlers earned medals for the Wolverines.
