Tryon Country Club has appointed David Quiroz as its new head golf professional, the club’s Board of Directors announced.
Quiroz, a PGA Class A Golf Professional, brings extensive experience in golf operations, club fitting, tournament management, merchandising and staffing. He has worked across private, semi-private and resort facilities both nationally and internationally.
Most recently, Quiroz served as head golf professional at The Carolina Country Club, following several successful years in the same role at Cleghorn Club in Rutherfordton. At Cleghorn, he led a staff of more than 20 employees across a George Cobb-designed golf course and seasonal sports club.

During his tenure at Cleghorn, Quiroz increased member participation in events, expanded membership through creative programming, improved communication with members and introduced new events that strengthened club culture and engagement. He also hosted multiple Carolina PGA events and supported junior and high school golf initiatives.
Previously, Quiroz was head golf professional at Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station, Texas, overseeing a large membership and staff while implementing new events, improving merchandising and increasing revenue through thoughtful programming and promotions. He also served as assistant and later head golf professional at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Arden, where he focused on member retention, instruction, junior camps and club fitting, and supported PGA HOPE programming for veterans.
Earlier in his career, Quiroz spent more than a decade as head golf professional at Vista & Marina Vallarta Club de Golf in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, managing large international tournaments, instruction programs and golf shop operations in both English and Spanish. He also held assistant professional roles at Querencia Golf Club in Los Cabos and Sahalee Country Club in Washington.
At Tryon Country Club, Quiroz will focus on strengthening the culture of golf, offering engaging events and clinics for members, and growing the game among young people at the club and in the surrounding community.
