Totten-Lancaster, Farley take top honors at Coon Dog Day 5K

Logan Totten-Lancaster, a rising sophomore on the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology cross country team, won the Coon Dog Day 5K on Saturday in Saluda.

Totten-Lancaster, a native of Carthage, N.C., finished in 17:37, 14 seconds ahead of Jay Upchurch of Charleston, S.C. and his younger brother, Colton Totten-Lancaster.

Julia Farley, a 13-year-old from Lemont, Ill., took top female honors and placed ninth overall.

Saluda’s Julie McCauley placed 14th overall and was the top local finisher.

Polk County sophomore Sadie Schweitzer finished 64th in 27:16, and Cameron Cole took 73rd in 27:42.

More than 300 runners competed in the annual race, held as part of Saluda’s Coon Dog Day Festival. Full results are available at runsignup.com.
