Due to expected winter weather, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association has modified the schedule for the state wrestling tournament as well as the seeding date for the basketball playoffs.
“After monitoring the forecast for inclement weather scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, consulting with the Greensboro Coliseum staff, and discussing with the multiple parties needed to conduct the wrestling tournament, we settled on a change in the wrestling schedule in the interest of safety for all of those involved,” said Commissioner Que Tucker.
The Individual Wrestling Championships at the Greensboro Coliseum will now begin on Saturday. The quarterfinals, second consolations and semifinals will be on Sunday, and the remaining consolations and finals will be conducted on Monday.
Playoff basketball seeding will now occur on Sunday, start time to be determined.

3 PM – 3A First Round
3 PM – 4A Weigh-Ins
5 PM – 4A First Round
5:30 PM – 2A Weigh-Ins

9 PM – First Round Consolations (2A, 3A, 4A and Women)
Sunday
11 AM – Coliseum Opens for Wrestlers
12 PM – All classes Weigh-Ins
1:30 PM – Quarterfinals (All Classes)
3:30 PM – Second Consolations (2A, 3A, 4A Women)
6 PM – Semifinals (All Classes)
Monday
7 AM – Coliseum Opens for Wrestlers
7:30 AM – Weigh-Ins (All Classes)
9 AM – First Consolations (1A), Third Consolations (2A, 3A, 4A, Women), followed by Consolation Semifinals (All Classes), followed by Third/Fifth Place Consolations
4 PM – Parade of Champions and Championship Finals
