Polk quartet honored at Blue Ridge Hot Stove Dinner

Four Polk County athletes were honored Sunday at the third annual Blue Ridge Hot Stove Dinner at the Foothills Conference Center in Morganton.

Gunnar Alm claimed the Tony Causby Player of the Year award in baseball, while Noah Harden was named Pitcher of the Year and Gavin Waldbillig received the Youth Player of the Year honor.

On the softball side, Junie Mitchell was named Scholar Athlete of the Year.

The Blue Ridge Hot Stove League recognizes top baseball and softball players and scholars from a 14-county region of Western North Carolina, including Polk County.
