Polk County Middle School’s tennis team had an enjoyable time playing Monday against Veritas Christian Academy.
Even though the Wolverines lost 9-0 in their season opener, all the members seemed to be enjoying themselves.
“It’s a great group of kids, It’s fun going to practice with them,” said Polk Middle head coach Kenneth Alexander. “They really are enjoying themselves and even if we lose, I see great improvement each time.”

Some of the team’s top players include Tana Harris, Juniper Walker-Eger and Grant Waddell.
Alexander said that his main goal is to improve the 11 members of the team in order to get them ready for the high school and next year as well.
“This year, half of my team is seventh graders, which means that next year, we’ll have a good team,” Alexander said.
