Polk County YMCA offering summer youth activities

The Polk County YMCA is offering a variety of summer programs for children, including day camp, sports camps and swim lessons at Gibson Pool.

The Summer of Wonder day camp serves children ages 5-12 and runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $140 for members and $190 for non-members. The typical daily schedule includes drop-off from 7-8 a.m., day camp programs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and pick-up and post-camp activities from 4-6 p.m.

Basketball and NFL Flag Football camps are available for children ages 3-14 (basketball) and 6-14 (flag football). Registration for the regular period runs April 1-27, with costs of $60 for members and $80 for non-members. Late registration runs April 28-May 3, with costs of $70 for members and $90 for non-members.

Gibson Pool opens Saturday, May 30, with group swim lessons available. Eight 30-minute lessons cost $65 for members and $85 for non-members. Registration opens May 1, with two-week sessions Monday through Thursday and make-up days on Fridays.

Pool access is available through day passes ($5 for all participants) or season passes ($55 for members and $95 for non-members). Household season passes are $75 for members and $145 for non-members.

The YMCA also offers pool birthday parties.
