Polk County will be the center of the regional wrestling world this weekend, hosting a pair of conference tournaments at Polk County High School.
The Blue Ridge Conference Individual Tournament is set for Friday at PCHS. The tourney, featuring wrestlers from both the East and West Divisions, is slated to begin at 3:45 p.m. Due to President Donald Trump’s visit to Asheville on Friday and expected traffic issues as a result, there is a chance the tourney could begin later to allow all teams to arrive.
There will be three mats in use, and a number of Polk County Middle wrestlers are expected to contend for conference championships. The Wolverines also the two-time defending team tournament champions.
