Polk County’s girls soccer matches Tuesday evening at Brevard marked the final official conference date for the Wolverine athletic program. Polk County will move to the Western Highlands Conference next season as part of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s upcoming realignment.
Polk will depart the MF7 with five regular-season conference championships as well as two tournament titles. Those include:

2023: Boys golf regular season
2024: Wrestling tournament
2024: Volleyball regular season
2025: Girls basketball regular season
2025: Girls basketball tournament
2025: Girls track conference championship
The MF7 will actually cease to exist after this season. Its current members will relocate to:
- Brevard – Mountain Eight 4A/5A
- Chase – Western Piedmont 3A/4A
- East Rutherford – Western Piedmont 3A/4A
- Hendersonville – Western Highlands 2A/3A
- Patton – Western Piedmont 3A/4A
- Polk County – Western Highlands 2A/3A
- R-S Central – Western Piedmont 3A/4A
