Polk County Volleyball Club’s 13s squad rolled to a second-place finish Saturday in the SAVL Alliance tournament held at Upward Stars Volleyball Center in Spartanburg.

PCVC opened plat Saturday by sweeping all three of its matches in pool play without losing a set. Polk then defeated a team from Hendersonville’s XCel Volleyball in the bracket semifinals, winning 25-20, 26-24. PCVC trailed 24-18 in that second set before scoring eight consecutive points to earn the win.

That victory moved PCVC into the championship match, where the team fell 25-10, 25-19 to Carolina Select Volleyball Club of Hickory.
