PCHS sets June 15 as start of first phase of offseason workouts

Polk County High School will begin June 15 moving into a reopening of its athletics programs as per North Carolina High School Athletic Association guidelines.

The NCHSAA recently announced the first of three phases that will allow high school sports teams to resume offseason workouts. A strict set of guidelines govern the first phase, which will last until at least July 6.

Polk County athletic staff plan to use June 15 as a date for distributing and collecting required forms as well as answering questions from athletes and their parents/guardians.

To that end, members of the Athletic Department will be available in the PCHS gym parking lot on June 15 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. to provide paper forms and answer any questions.

Before being allowed to begin workouts, athletes must:

  • Have a valid physical since March 1, 2019
  • Register and complete all required documentation on 8to18 Online
  • Complete pre-screening and updated first page of physical

All forms and more information about the start of workouts can be found at the PCHS athletics website.
