With the fall sports regular season nearing its end for some teams and already the postseason for others, a handful of schedule changes have been made for Polk County High School teams.
The Wolverine volleyball squad will celebrate Senior Night on Thursday against Mountain Heritage as Monday’s planned game with Veritas Christian Academy has been cancelled. Thursday’s game will be the final match of the regular season for Polk County.
Junior varsity play will begin at 5 p.m., with the varsity to follow.
The Polk County girls tennis team will host Chatham Central in the second round of the state 1A playoffs after the Bears earned a 5-4 win Tuesday over Thomas Jefferson. That second-round match is set at present for Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Polk.
Polk County’s boys soccer team had its matches scheduled for Monday at Madison postponed due to a lack of available referees. The JV and varsity matches have been rescheduled for October 30.
