With stormy and cool weather affecting the area for the next two days, all athletic events at Polk County High School and Polk County Middle School on Monday and Tuesday have been postponed.
Affected events include:
Monday, Mar. 16
Boys Tennis: Polk County at Owen
Baseball: Asheville Christian Middle at Polk County Middle
Girls Soccer: Mitchell at Polk County

Tuesday, Mar. 17
Baseball: Mitchell JV at Polk County JV
Softball: Mitchell at Polk County
Baseball: Mitchell at Polk County
Here is a list of known makeup dates:
Boys Tennis
Polk County at Owen moved to Friday at 4 p.m.
Baseball
Asheville Christian Middle at Polk County Middle moved to Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Polk County will now play a doubleheader at Mitchell on Friday. That will be varsity only beginning at 4 p.m.
Softball
Polk County will now play Mitchell on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. instead of Asheville. The Asheville game is not expected to be rescheduled at this time.
Girls Soccer
Polk County will host Mitchell on Tuesday, Mar. 24 at 6 p.m.
Also note that Polk County will not compete in a track and field meet on Thursday. The team’s next meet will be on Saturday.
