Polk County High School has upgraded its weight room thanks to a Youth Sports Grant from North Carolina Amateur Sports.
The grant allowed the school to replace outdated equipment including power racks, barbells, dumbbells and benches, improving both safety and the athletes’ workout experience.
“We are tremendously grateful and proud of the weight room upgrades we received from this grant,” said Athletic Director Michelle Fagan. “It will have a positive impact on our physical education classes as well as our student athletes for many years to come.
“It provides updated and safer measures for our students to train, improve strength and develop healthy habits to benefit them not only in competitions but for life.”
