PCHS Athletic Fundraiser golf tournament set for May 23

An afternoon of golf and a chance to support Polk County athletics – what better way to spend a May day?

The 17th Annual PCHS Athletic Fundraiser will be held May 23 at Links O’Tryon. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and tee times beginning at 12:30 p.m.

The tournament will be played in a four-man captain’s choice format, with entry fee $100 per player.

All proceeds from the event – always a fun-filled afternoon – go to support Polk County athletic teams, and coaches and players from each team are currently looking for sponsors. A tournament scoreboard sponsorship is $100, and sponsors can select a PCHS athletic team to specifically support.

The tournament serves as the athletic department’s primary fundraiser for the year and is one of the key factors in Polk County Schools not charging a participation fee for athletes as many other area school districts now do.

Forms for teams or sponsors can be downloaded and returned to Jim Hemphill or a high school head coach.
