Overholt, Beiler named PolkSports Athletes of the Week for May 9-15

Polk County’s Olivia Overholt and Casey Beiler have been named the PolkSports Athletes of the Week for the period ending May 15.

Overholt won the long jump and 1600 meters at the Wolverine Two meet at G.M. Tennant Stadium, topping the 1A West Regional qualifying standard in both events.

Beiler was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits and striking out seven, as the Polk County JVs defeated Madison at home, then slammed a game-winning two-run home run in the seventh inning in a victory over the Patriots in Marshall.
