NCHSAA sets venues, dates for spring state championships

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has announced venues and schedules for all 2026 spring sports state championships.

The Men’s Tennis Individual State Championships will once again be the first championship event of the spring, held May 8–9. The 5A and 6A championships will be at Cary Tennis Park, 1A/2A championships at North Main Athletic Complex (formerly Ting Park) in Holly Springs, 3A and 4A at Burlington Tennis Center, and 7A and 8A at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center.

The Dual Team State Championship matches will be played May 15–16 at the Burlington Tennis Center. Additional details on match schedules will be announced later. Burlington first hosted the Men’s Dual Team Championships in 2000 and has played host numerous times since becoming a regular championship site.

The Men’s Golf Championships will be held May 11–12 at four different courses across the state. Championship sites will include Longleaf Golf and Family Club (3A and 4A) in Southern Pines, Gates Four Golf and Country Club (1A and 2A) in Fayetteville, Sapona Golf Club (5A and 6A) in Lexington and Pinehurst No. 8 (7A and 8A).

The Outdoor Track and Field State Championships will be held May 13–16 at the Marcus T. Johnson Track at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro. This marks a change from the originally scheduled site.

The championships will be contested over four days:

  • May 13: 2A and 4A
  • May 14: 1A and 3A
  • May 15: 5A and 7A
  • May 16: 6A and 8A

The Baseball and Softball State Championship Series will be played May 27–30. The Softball Championship Series will be held at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro while the Baseball Championship Series will be played at Burlington Athletic Stadium and North Main Athletic Complex. Which classifications will play at each site will be announced at a later date.

The Women’s Soccer State Championships will be held May 28–30 at Durham County Memorial Stadium. Championship matches are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 28; 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. on May 29; and 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. on May 30.

The Lacrosse State Championships will be held May 29–30 at Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Moretz Stadium. Games will be played Friday at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Saturday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
