Local student-athletes attend FCA leadership camp

2 min read

A group of eight student-athletes from Polk County High School and Polk County Middle School recently traveled to St. Simons Island, Ga. along with a group from Chapman High in Inman for Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership camp.

The camp took place June 30-July 4 on the beautiful campus of the Epworth by the Sea Conference and Retreat Center. Each student was assigned a different huddle group led by a college athlete such as Eli Grambling of the Mercer University football team and Hannah Wood, a track all-American from Kennesaw State University. Students competed in various sports with their huddle as well as had spiritual discussion time with their huddles.

During the morning chapel sessions, a college athlete would give their testimony and another would discuss the camp theme of the day. During the evening sessions, Stuart Hall would challenge the athletes to be the leaders that God has called them to be. Haley Morgan Smith did an awesome job leading worship during both sessions.
