Grant to help Polk mountain bike team with end-of-season travel

1 min read

Polk County Schools has received financial assistance through a Youth Sports Grant from the North Carolina Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission to benefit the newly formed Polk County Wolverines Mountain Bike Team.

The funding will help offset travel expenses for the team’s season finale in May at the Paperboy Pedal Championship in Danville, Va.

The commission, which provides support for adventurous activities and educational experiences for North Carolina youth, approved the grant as part of its mission to enhance outdoor opportunities for children and teenagers across the state.
