Autumn Owen certainly made the most Saturday of her Senior Day at North Carolina.

The former Polk County standout went 3-for-4 with three RBI in an opening-game win over Louisville, then homered with two outs in the seventh inning to tie the nightcap eventually won 7-6 by the Tar Heels.

Though she missed seven games in late March and early April, Owen remains among the top 20 in the Atlantic Coast Conference in homers (11) and RBI (39). She is hitting .317 and has a team-high 25 walks.

She had three home runs in an April 13 doubleheader at Pittsburgh and was 5-for-10 at the plate in the series with four homers and seven RBI.

Gardner-Webb: Senior Nick Capozzi continues to be a key part of the Bulldog lineup.

Capozzi has started 18 games this season for the 15-24 Bulldogs. He is hitting .273 with a homer and eight RBI.

He had hits in both ends of Saturday’s doubleheader with Longwood, including his third double of the season.

Mars Hill: Junior Jordan Searcy has appeared as a relief pitcher in five games for the 15-29 Lions.

Searcy has thrown a total of 5.1 innings, striking out four and posting a 6.75 earned-run average.

Coker: Senior Bryson Edwards picked up his first at-bat of the season on Friday in the Cobras’ 9-2 loss to Catawba.

Edwards and the remaining Coker seniors celebrated Senior Day on Saturday. The Cobras own a 27-18 record heading into the final four games of the regular season.

Virginia-Wise: Reilly Yoder had the first top-10 finish of his freshman year earlier this month, taking ninth in The Northeast Tennessee Collegiate.

Yoder fired a 79-75 at that tournament. He then matched that total in his most recent event, the Cleveland State Invitational, where he finished 22nd.

Yoder and his Virginia-Wise teammates began competition Sunday at the South Atlantic Conference Championships in Orangeburg, S.C. Yoder carded an 84 in the opening round.

Lenoir-Rhyne: Olivia Overholt raced to a third-place finish in the 800-meter run at the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational held April 13-14 at Lenoir-Rhyne.

Overholt posted a time of 2:18.10 in the event. She also helped the Bears’ 4×400-meter relay team take third place.

Overholt posted a personal record of 4:59.40 in the 1500-meter run earlier this spring.

MARS HILL: Lindsey Jenkins set a new personal record of 2:25.54 in the 800-meter run at the UNCA Bulldog Invite in Asheville on April 13.

Jenkins also finished seventh in the 800 at the LR Bears Open in March and has run the 1500 meters this season for the Lions.

BELMONT ABBEY: Tori Thompson set a personal record of 8-1 1/2 in the pole vault during the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational held April 13-14 at Lenoir-Rhyne.

Thompson took fifth in the event.

She also placed ninth in the 800-meter run at that same meet with a time of 2:48.37 and has also run the 1500 meters this spring.

MONTREAT COLLEGE: Senior Caleb Potter recorded a pair of top-10 finishes at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships held Thursday-Saturday in Columbia, S.C

Potter set a personal record in the 10000-meter run, finishing fifth in that race in a time of 31:56.46. He also placed seventh in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:32.37.
