Polk County’s indoor track team added to its growing list of state qualifiers on Wednesday, with four more team members meeting state standards in a meet at Asheville High School.

With the state meet slated for Feb. 13, the Wolverines took a handful of competitors who were nearing qualification for the state meet to Asheville to give those competitors another shot at qualifying. Those who did include:

  • Michaela Nelon, shot put
  • Sean Doyle, 500-meter run
  • Jacob Wolfe, 500-meter run
  • Ali Swope, 1600-meter run

Doyle is now qualified in five individual events (300, 500, 1000, 1600 and 3200-meter runs) and is part of two Polk relay teams who have qualified. Wolfe has qualified in both the 500 and 1000-meter runs.
