Polk County’s girls tennis team made a successful preseason debut Wednesday, turning in a strong showing in a home scrimmage against R-S Central.
The Wolverines got wins throughout the lineup, including from players stepping into new roles and several competing for Polk County for the first time. The scrimmage also gave head coach Tracy Becker a chance to experiment with combinations before the regular season begins.
“I was really proud of the girls tonight,” Becker said. “We had several players stepping into new positions, some playing together for the first time and others competing in their first match. I loved the way they fought, especially in some very tough heat.”
