West Henderson posted a 9-0 win over Polk County on Tuesday in a non-conference girls tennis match at Polk.

Continuing its tough non-conference schedule against a solid West Henderson squad, Polk County (0-4) also played without No. 3 singles player Reese Alley, who recently suffered a broken wrist and will miss the remainder of the season.

“Several fairly competitive matches but still no good results on the scoreboard,” said Polk County head coach Richard Davis. “(Alley’s loss) means that now everyone must step up to yet another level of play.

“We are getting better and improving with each passing match. Hopefully, at some point we will break through with a win.”

Polk County hosts Enka on Wednesday before opening Western Highlands Conference play on Thursday with a home match against Avery.
