
Polk County opened Western Highlands Conference play on a winning note Tuesday, downing Avery 7-2 in girls tennis action at Polk County.
Led by Hannah Jenne’s 10-0 triumph at No. 1 singles, the Wolverines (8-2, 1-0) won five of the six singles matches to secure the match win before the start of doubles play.
Polk County added wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to cap the victory.
The Wolverines continue WHC play on Thursday at Mountain Heritage.
