
Polk County swept doubles play Thursday to upend Patton, 5-4, in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference girls tennis match at Polk.
The Wolverines (2-3, 2-0) matched their win total from last season with a determined comeback after falling behind 4-2 in singles matches.
Elizabeth Vitale and Bella Sheffron teamed for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles that set the tone for the rally, with Sarah Vitale and Cameron Ward winning 8-2 at No. 2 and Allie Quoyle teaming with Mia Wolfe for a key 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
Patton dropped to 3-2 overall, 1-1 in conference play.
The Wolverines return to the court on Tuesday, hosting East Rutherford for a 4 p.m. match.
