Polk County's Anna Jackson stretches for a return during Tuesday's doubles play

Pizza, cupcakes and a victory – Senior Day could not have been much sweeter Tuesday for Polk County.

The Wolverines celebrated their three seniors with a solid 7-2 victory over Patton, sweeping singles play to ensure the home match would have a winning ending.

Polk County (6-1, 5-1) lost only one game in the six singles matches against a young rebuilding Patton (0-10, 0-8) squad.

That allowed Wolverine head coach Tracy Becker to adjust her doubles pairings to make certain every team member took part in the match, including the three seniors, Allie Quoyle, Anna Jackson and Rosie LaFauci.

Polk County will take part Thursday in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference doubleheader with East Rutherford, that twinbill beginning at 2 p.m. One of the two matches will be a makeup of a postponed meeting earlier this season.
