Season ends for Polk girls tennis squad

The 2013 season came to an end Monday for Polk County’s girls tennis team as the Wolverines missed earning a berth in the state 2A playoffs.

Hendersonville, the Western Highlands Conference champion, was the only WHC squad to earn a playoff berth. The Bearcats will host Maiden on Tuesday.

Polk County’s season ends at 8-8.

The Wolverines will have two entries in doubles portion of the regional 2A individual tournament. Alivia Livesay/Jamie Green and Alli Halbkat/Mackenize McCool are slated to participate in that event on Friday at Gardner-Webb.
