Polk County’s girls tennis team found success south of the border.
The Wolverines earned a hard-fought 5-4 win Wednesday over Greer Middle Charter in a non-conference girls tennis match in Greer.
Polk County upped its record to 3-0 thanks in large part to its effort in singles play. The Wolverines won four of the six singles matches, including Tali Thompson’s gutty effort at No. 4 singles, where she outlasted Zaryn Fleming 12-10 in a tiebreaker after the two split the first two sets.

Brown and Bella Sheffron then delivered the match-winning point at No. 2 doubles with an 8-4 victory.
