Polk County’s young girls tennis team continued to show improvement Thursday in a 8-1 Mountain Foothills 7 Confernce loss at Patton.
The Wolverines, playing without usual No. 1 singles player Cameron Ward, picked up a 6-2, 4-6 (10-4 tiebreaker) victory at No. 5 singles from Allie Quoyle.
“We’ll keep marching forward and hitting that little green ball,” said Polk County head coach Richard Davis. “I’m proud of our effort.”
The setback came on the heels of a 9-0 loss Wednesday at home to Owen.
The Wolverines (1-3, 0-2) are slated to travel Tuesday to East Rutherford.
